You have probably heard about the "Power of Positive Thinking" in the self-help literature or the power of positive affirmations.
And while it is true that it is better to be an optimist than a pessimist there is a hidden but crippling problem within focusing on Positive Thinking.
Have you ever had a gut feeling that something is about to go wrong? Have you ever felt it in your bones that a particular person was up to no good? Have you ever felt it in your blood that a certain choice is not a good choice despite logic saying it is?
All of these are brushed away, ignored, or suppressed in "Positive Thinking" because they ruin your good vibe and they would lead you down the path of the "Dark Side."
But all of these feelings, that we have been taught to ignore, are part of your guidance system. They are ways to get you to pay attention to something. It could be your body trying to communicate to you that something is not right!
Ignoring these would be like taping a smiling face over the low-fuel indicator of the tank because the red light is not very positive.
It is time to reawaken this language.
In the class "Negative Feelings - why do we get them" we call this language "the niggle language".
